Imagine getting engaged and the first person to congratulate you is Taylor Swift!

That was the case for one lucky fan and their partner at the songstress' first Edinburgh gig on her Eras Tour on Friday night.

It's not uncommon for partners to get down on bended knee at one of Taylor's gigs to pop the question- particularly during the lyric 'he knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...' during Love Story.

However, one loved-up Swiftie decided to shake things up a bit and propose during Taylor's more serene comfort song Cardigan.

In a clip shared on social media, the singer can be seen beaming when she finishes singing her track and gazes out at one particular area in the audience.

Taylor's then heard saying: 'I love performing this entire show in the sunlight 'cause I'm pretty sure I just saw somebody get engaged over here.'

The singer points into the crowd asking: 'Did it happen?,' and when she receives confirmation she animatedly cheers as the audience goes wild.

'You have no idea, I never get to see that 'cause it's dark usually at night but it's not right now,' Taylor admitted. 'So congratulations! Wow, I just saw that whole thing!'

'Man that's amazing,' she continued. 'Thanks for doing that at my concert, that's a big moment. Huge!'

Taylor's bringing her Eras Tour to Dublin's Aviva Stadium from Friday, June 28 until Sunday, June 30.
