Stop and Smell the Tulips
Look no further than North Texas for Spring flowers. Texas-Tulips is a pick-your-own tulip field located in Pilot Point. Tulip picking season begins mid to end February and ends in late March or early April depending on the weather. There are roughly 100 types of tulips to choose from, and the availability varies throughout the season.
History
The Texas-Tulips story begins in Holland (also known as The Netherlands) almost 40 years ago. With a spade and a handful of onion seeds, Piet & Afra Koeman started a horticultural farm. Later, they added leeks, chrysanthemums, irises, and tulip bulbs to the farm. Gradually, they extended the acreage, and now they specializein tulip bulb production, growing tulips in several greenhouses. After visiting Texas multiple times, theyfinally decided to set up a tulip company in Pilot Point, Texas. They found the perfect fusion of fertile soil, country charm within the DFW-Metroplex, and nice weather during the spring season in the gentle, rolling hills north of Dallas. It also fulfilled one of their greatest wishes—to be able to meet the people who buy their tulips!
If you're interested in starting your own tulip garden, Texas-Tulips also sells pre-cooled tulip bulbs year round, perfect for planting from mid-December to early January!

U-Pick
Pack up yourfamily and friends for a fun day of picking tulips in the most picturesque location. Scattered through the 6-acrefield, you will find tulip picking baskets. After filling your basket (and taking photos along the way), Texas-Tulips will wrap them up for you with special instructions for storing your bouquet at home (or someone else's home as they make a lovely gift). The cost of each tulip is $2.50 per stem.
