It can be difficult to store your pots and pans in an organized way. Thanks to their sheer bulk, varying shapes, and sizes, you need quite a bit of cabinet space in order to corral them to one spot. It's why a lot of people resort to stashing their pots and pans in the oven, or other random places,since they run out of space in their cabinets or islands. But when you have your cookware separated all over the kitchen, it can be challenging to remember what you have, especially if you have quite a collection. You might not recall you have that small sauce pot until you lay eyes on it again a few months later when you unearth it from a forgotten bottom drawer. To avoid that problem, utilize a couple of S-hooks from Dollar Tree to organize your pots above the stove.

This not only gives them a specific home, making it easy to keep your collection tidy, but it also solves your limited cabinet space issue. Rather than investing in another storage unit, or taking up precious storage space, you use the empty vertical space available to you over your stove. Here is how to pull off this simple Dollar Tree hack.

This simple DIY hinges on the metal garden hooks you can get from Dollar Tree. Head to the "Garden Supplies" aisle of your local store, and grab a pack of two hooks for just $1.25. If you don't have a store nearby (or just don't feel like driving there), you can also buy them online for the same price, plus shipping. Online, you can buy multiples at a time, so this might be the best option if you have a lot of pots and pans you want to hang and don't want to risk your in-store location being sold out. You don't want to take the time to drive to the store only to find there are two packets left!

To pull off this hack, you also need to buy an inexpensive towel bar. Something like theCommand Satin Nickel Hand Towel Bar will work great for newbie crafters, since it negates the need for screws and power tools, and adheres to the wall with Command Strips instead. You can get it for $21 at Walmart. Simply wipe down the tile or wall you want to stick it to with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt and residue, and once it has dried, stick the rack to the wall using the Command Strips. Press it firmly for 30 seconds to allow the adhesive to bond to the surface. Allow a full 24 hours for it to cure, and then you can put your Dollar Tree hooks on the bar. If you want to hang multiple heavy pots and pans from the rack, you will need to skip the Command Strip route and instead anchor a bar to the wall. The above towel rack can hold up to 3 pounds, making it best for small pots and lightweight pans. For your heavier pieces, upgrade to a stainless steel towel bar, such as the Honmein Towel Bar. It's adjustable, so you can customize its length depending on how wide the space is above your stove. You can get it for $10 on Amazon.

To ensure your pots don't come crashing down over your stovetop, you must first install the anchors into studs. To do so, use a stud finder to pinpoint your studs, and make pilot holes with a drill bit. Then, pop in anchors that support at least 20 pounds, such as the Project Source anchors that you can get for $7 at Lowe's(there are anchors that support even more weight, too). Finally, screw in your towel holder, arrange the Dollar Tree S-hooks on the rack, and proceed to organize your pots and pans.
