Gardens have a special place in our hearts, they are a place where we can relax, play, socialise and just take a step back from the chaos of the modern world.
Garden design is an art that combines creativity, knowledge of plants, construction, planting styles and a deep understanding of the natural environment.
I can advise on what is possible, come up with alternatives if needed, plus give you inspiration around ideas you may not have thought of. I work by providing a plan that lays everything out, enabling you to visualise the final layout to see how everything fits.
I also aim to preserve and improve soil structure as often as possible because it has an amazing ability to hold carbon and has mycorrhizal networks (fungal associations between plant roots and beneficial fungi networks) which in turn encourage plants to thrive.

Plants are the lifeblood of any garden, and their selection plays a vital role in the overall design. Factors such as climate, soil conditions, and maintenance need to be taken into account when choosing plants. Blending foliage textures, colour, and height can give lots of interest and enjoyment. Additionally, using native or drought-tolerant plants promotes sustainability and supports local ecosystems.
Colour creates interest and evokes different moods, for example, warm reds, oranges, and yellows can add vibrancy and energy, while cool colours such as blues and purples evoke calmness. You can choose a colour palette that complements your garden's style and purpose.
