Ingredients
2 ozred wine
1/2ozbourbon
1/2ozsimple syrup
1large round ice sphere
3gourmet maraschino cherries
Instructions

While an Old Fashioned is served in a rocks glass over an ice cube, a Manhattan is served chilled, but neat, in a coupe glass. The Old Fashioned is then garnished with an orange peel, while the Manhattan with a brandied cherry.
Well, there's no wrong vermouth (to each their own), but it's generally recommended that you use sweet red vermouth in this co*cktail. If you're going for the “perfect” Manhattan, you'll need to use half sweet and half dry vermouth.
