James Franklin and Penn State football have not put out a depth chart since spring 2020.
The head coach has said he doesn’t “see the value in it,” and he likely prefers the slight competitive edge it gives the Nittany Lions. This has made for some fun conjecture and controversy over the year, with everything from mystery Sean Clifford injuries to sudden player departures stirring the pot.
So, we’ve decided to keep our own version of a Penn State depth chart for the 2024 season. We will update it regularly and keep it up to date, reflecting what we see on the field and during practice sessions.
We updated the chart to reflect some personnel changes evident after the Blue-White game. The most notable changes are Keandre Lambert-Smith and Malick Meiga’s departures, and Tom Allen’s commitment to a 4-2-5 defensive scheme.
