Here we go again with another TikTok trend! This pasta dish was creamy, tangy and SO filling. I definitely got my points worth from this meal. Sometimes I have to get out of my mindset of ‘that’s too many points for one meal’. But I was SO satisfied and still had 13 other points left for the entire day. Plus, I saved 40 points eating my version instead of the restaurant’s (not including those incredible breadsticks, ya know).

I absolutely loveinstant pot recipes. They are so easy and clean up in minimal. If you like them too, some of my most popular ones are mypenne alla vodka, chicken Alfredo, orBirria tacos.

Olive Garden Alfredo

This Olive Garden chicken pasta recipe is a take on a viral TikTok video, made in the instant pot. It uses Olive Garden dressing, which gives you the name of the recipe. But, it also combines elements of a classic alfredo recipe. Tie both of those together, and you have this creamy, yet tart, Olive Garden chicken alfredo pasta recipe!

Ingredients

First things first is an instant pot of course. I use theoriginal instant pot brandand I love using thenon-stick bowl inserteasy clean up; however, you do not have to. Alternatively, there are many brands of pressure cookers you can try; however, I have not.

Then, all you need are these 6 ingredients.

Chicken - I typically make this recipe with chicken breast; however, tenderloins were on sale and they are easier to cut. But, you can really use any cut of chicken for this dish as they will be chopped up into bite-sized pieces anyways. Tenderloins are great because they are, well, tender.

Pasta - Any type of pasta will really work for this Olive Garden chicken alfredo pasta. I prefer a short pasta, such as rotini or penne. I did use gluten free pasta; however, you can use regular pasta. This recipe will be for regular pasta; however, if you do choose gluten free pasta, add a minute to your cooking time. If you pick a smaller noodle, such as elbow noodles, it will cook it less time. Therefore, I suggest chopping up the chicken smaller.

Olive Garden Italian Dressing - This comes in light or regular. I use light, you know, to lighten it up; however, you can use the regular kind.

Broth - This is to help add more liquid to the dish, without adding to much dressing. You need this liquid to allow the pasta to cook. I use low sodium chicken broth; however, really any broth, or water, will work.

Parmesan Cheese and Cream Cheese - These will help cut through the tartness of the Olive Garden Italian dressing while also making the dish rich and creamy. I do use reduced fat versions; however, you can use the regular kind.

How to Make Instant Pot Olive Garden Alfredo

Cut chicken up into bite-sized pieces, about 1 inch by 1 inch. Then, set aside.

Place the pasta noodles (dry) into the Instant Pot. Pour the dressing then the broth around the pasta.

Add the cut up chicken on top of the pasta then sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese.

Chop cream cheese up into 6 pieces and place on top of the chicken / cheese.

Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure the valve is set to sealing. Set the pressure cook button to 5 minutes and start it (set to 6 if you like the pasta softer or for gluten free noodles).

When the time is up let the pot sit for 3 minutes and then move the valve to venting. Remove the lid.

Mix together and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Can I Make This Without Pasta

Of course you can make this without pasta. Just leave the pasta out of the recipe and only use ½ cup of broth. I love to put the chicken in whole and shred it after it is cooked.

Sides to Pair With Olive Garden Alfredo

  • Honey Roasted Carrots
  • Mini Bloomin' Onions
  • Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts

How to Store Leftovers

Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

What to Add to This Instant Pot Chicken Pasta Recipe

I have one word. And that one word is BACON. This recipe is amazing with some added bacon. If you want to go the healthier route, it is great with some broccoli as well.

FAQs

Does cooking chicken longer in Instant Pot make it more tender? ›

This dinner staple cooks up perfectly every time in the Instant Pot. You can aim for firm but juicy chicken for cubing, or let it cook a little bit longer for tender shredded chicken.

How do you keep chicken from getting tough in Instant Pot? ›

The key to getting perfectly juicy boneless chicken breasts is to cook them on a trivet, above the liquid. I find that this results in a better texture than cooking them on the bottom of the pot. I also think their texture is best when you quickly release the pressure, rather than letting it naturally release.

Can you overcook chicken in the Instapot? ›

Why is my Instant Pot chicken so dry? ›

Because chicken breast is so lean, just a couple of extra minutes of cook time turns them from juicy to overcooked and dry. Thighs, on the other hand, are a fattier cut, and not prone to dry out as quickly even after an extra minute or two of cooking.

Is it better to pressure cook or slow cook chicken? ›

So can a Crock-Pot cook better chicken than an Instant Pot? Well, it really depends on what you're making. The Instant Pot cooks chicken much faster than its non-pressure counterparts, but the resulting texture isn't going to be the same as what you'd get with a slow cooker or Dutch oven.

How long should I pressure can raw chicken? ›

Once you're getting 4 “jiggles” per minute, or your dial gauge has come up to pressure, start your timer and process the chicken. If you're canning pint jars, you will process them for 1 hour 15 minutes (75 minutes). If you're using quart jars, you will process for 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes).

Does pressure cooking chicken remove fat? ›

Pressure cooking chicken retains more protein than other cooking methods, the high heat makes the meat more digestible without compromising the food's natural antioxidant activity during digestion, it makes the meat less fatty, extra moist and tender.

What is Olive Garden chicken alfredo made of? ›

1,570 cal. Creamy alfredo sauce made from scratch with ingredients like parmesan, cream, garlic and butter, served with fettuccine pasta and topped with sliced grilled chicken.

Does Olive Garden Alfredo have MSG? ›

Our food recipes do not use added MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) and, based on information from our suppliers, MSG is not added to any of the ingredients we use. However, certain foods and ingredients naturally contain glutamate or glutamic acid (such as tomatoes, milk, cheese, mushrooms and certain yeasts and proteins).

Does chicken get more tender the longer you cook it? ›

Unlike chicken breasts, chicken thighs and drumsticks actually become more tender the longer they cook. That's because of their makeup. Dark meat has an abundant amount of connective tissue, which dissolves into gelatin as the meat cooks, rendering it juicy and tender.

Does meat get softer the longer you pressure cook it? ›

All Cuts of Meat Can Become More Tender in a Pressure Cooker

This is where a pressure cooker really starts to shine.

Why is my Instant Pot meat not tender? ›

If it's still tough, you will need to cook it longer. The pressure cooking process breaks down tough meat, making it tender. Put the lid back on, seal the pressure cooker, and cook at high pressure for another 10 to 20 minutes. The provided nutrition facts are estimates.
