Freeing Grubs from their glass prisons will allow them to return to the Grubfather, located in the northeastern corner of the Forgotten Crossroads. Return to him after freeing Grubs and he’ll reward you with mountains of Geo, Mask Fragments, and even Charms.

NOTE: Once you obtain the Love Key in Queen's Gardens, you will be able to access The Collector, a boss in the northeastern reaches of the City of Tears. Defeating The Collector will mark the location of every Grub on the map, making it much easier to obtain them all.

GRUB #1

The first Grub is located south of where you meet Cornifer. Continue down the tunnel, then head left and through the tunnel filled with impervious burrowing worms.

Beyond that is a cavern filled with acid. Defeat the enemies, avoid the spikes, and you’ll find the cute little Grub in a glass jar on a ledge. Smash the glass with your sword to free them and send them home to the Grubfather.

GRUB #2

The second Grub is located in the eastern part of the Forgotten Crossroads. Starting at the Stagway, head northeast, then follow the corridor to the east. When you reach a chasm heading down, descend about halfway, then take the exit on the left.

In the hallway, you’ll find several elevated platforms with spikes on them. Jump and slash downward at the spikes (the Nail Jump technique) to bounce your way up to the large platform where you’ll find Grub #2. Smash the glass with your sword to free them and send them home to the Grubfather.

GRUB #3

The third Grub is located in the shaft just north of the Forgotten Crossroads Stagway station. Head up, through the shaft and, just across from a right-side exit about halfway up, you’ll see a small ledge.

Slash at the wall to break it down and reveal two enemies. Dispatch them and you’ll come face-to-face with the Grub. Smash the glass to free the Grub and send them back to the Grubfather.

GRUB #4

The fourth Grub is located in the northeastern region of the Forgotten Crossroads. Dropping down the well from Dirtmouth, head to the right until you reach the end of the pathway, where you’ll encounter a miniboss.

Slash at the boss, then jump away and slash again before he strikes with his massive club-like weapon and jump over his butt-stomp shockwave to avoid taking damage. If you need to heal up, back up to the entryway and channel Soul before you resume your attack.

Once you have dispatched the miniboss, gather your Geo and move to the end of the passageway to find the Grub. Smash the glass to free it and send it back to the grateful Grubfather.

GRUB #41

NOTE: This Grub requires the Mothwing Cloak.

This Grub is located in the northwestern region of the Forgotten Crossroads. Dropping down the well from Dirtmouth, head left until you reach the end of the pathway, where you’ll find a long vertical shaft. Drop down, hugging the right side, and take the first exit on the right.

Head right and hop up onto the small elevated platforms and you’ll see the Grub to the right, so jump and dash to reach it. Smash the glass to free the Grub and send it the short distance back to the Grubfather.

GRUB #42

NOTE: This Grub can be obtained from the beginning of the game using skillful use of the Nail Jump technique. To obtain the Grub without using the Nail Jump technique, you’ll need the Mothwing Cloak and the Monarch Wings.

This Grub is located in the southeastern region of the Forgotten Crossroads, between the Forgotten Crossroads Stagway Station and the Tramway Station. From the Tramway, head left and into the next area. Hop up the shaft and take the first exit on the left.

In this area, you’ll find a small series of spiked platforms. Use the Nail Jump technique to hop up the platforms to the Grub, or use the Monarch Wings and Mothwing Cloak to double-jump, then dash across the spiked platforms to reach the Grub. Smash the glass to free the little one and send it back to the Grubfather.

GRUB #5

The fifth Grub is located in the eastern region of Greenpath, just north of where Cornifer sells the Greenpath map.

From Cornifer, head left through the gap in the rock wall, then hop up the ledges and back towards the right. Jump up and to the right to reveal a hidden area. Walk forward and slice the vine holding up the large stone slab.

Drop back down and head back towards Cornifer, this time using the stone slab to reach the ledge to the right. Continue a short distance and you'll find the Grub. Smash the glass to free it and send it back to its loving Grubfather.

GRUB #6

The sixth Grub is located in the eastern region of Greenpath, south of where Cornifer sells the Greenpath map. From Cornifer (and Grub #5), head left through the gap in the rock wall, then hop up the ledges and continue left. Slice the vine holding up the large stone slab, then drop down on top of it and hop across the spikes and up to the ledge on the left. Slash the other vine ahead of you to unlock a shortcut, then hop down into the next area.

Continue downward, slashing vines and dropping slabs to create a pathway forward. Hug the wall on the right, and you’ll soon reach the bottom of the shaft and a pool of acid. Hop up onto the ledge on the right and you'll find the Grub. Smash the glass to free it and send it back to its loving Grubfather.

GRUB #31

This Grub is located in the southwestern section of Greenpath. Just to the left of the Massive Moss Charger miniboss fight is a long corridor filled with acid. Use Nail Jump to bounce across the acid on the backs of the patrolling Durandoos.

Near the middle of the area, you'll see a small series of elevated platforms leading up and to the right. Hop up the platforms and you’ll find the Grub. Smash the glass to free it and send it back to its loving Grubfather.

Air Stall by using the Jump button, then use the Monarch Wings and Mothwing Cloak to air-jump and dash up to the wall, then wall-jump up and head left to find the Grub.

NOTE: If you have Isma’s tear, you can simply fall into the acid, then double-jump up to the wall, obviating the need for the Air Stall+Air Jump combo.

Head into that area, then hop down and you’ll see several Grubs in glass jars. Only the one on the bottom level is real, the rest are Grub Mimics. If you like killing mimics, smash them all. Otherwise, hop down to reach the third Grub jar and smash it to send the real Grub home to the Grubfather.
