Elements of Floral Design (1)

When are going to make an arrangement many elements mustbe taken into consideration. I myself have worked in a flower shop andunderstand that an arrangement just can't be thrown together. Tought andthe elements of design must all be put into effect. The five elements ofdesign are line, color, form, space and texture. I will discuss each elementand what the importance of each element is.

The first element I will discuss is line. Line providesmany things for a design, it provides the shape and the structure. Theline also allows a path to exist for the person looking at the arrangement.Designers can use different techniques to create their lines.

The second element that is important in design is theuse of color.Elements of Floral Design (2)Coloris perhaps the most important element out of all the elements because thatis what most people notice.
The best way to choose colors for an arrangement is touse a color
wheel.

The third element is form. Form includes three thingsheight, width and depth. It is important to think about form while placingflowers because this is what determines the form.

The fourth element is space, spacing of flowers give theviewer a chance to view each individual flower.

The fifth element is texture. Texture gives the arrangementintrest and diversity. Allowing viewer to notice different flowers.

I hope you have learned a little bit about the elements. Now you can make your own arrangement.
